Quickie Update: Matt's Xbox Elite dies....
Hey all,
Yes, Monday night before wrestling, I decided to try to finish the first level of "John Woo's Strangehold" to get that achievement, and I was wondering WTF (as in why the..) my Xbox 360 Elite was spinning the disc in the tray as LOUDLY as it was. At first, it was saying that the disc was unplayable. Then it finally played, only to be SUPER loud. Then, it just flat refused to read ANY of my games. From what Frank tells me, the disc drive decided to die. So, thankfully, I got up to my old store at Mid-Rivers and was able to exchange my Elite before the store closed. It works quite quietly and well now, plus Erik was able to let me keep the new box and we just swapped out my current hard drive for the new one, and left the headset (since I forgot it) out.
Also discovered the "serial lock" rumor is false, as my games with DLC work so far (was able to play my d/l'ed demo of "F.E.A.R. Files").
Work lately has been kind of boring, because we don't have anything on the boards for a week and a half (when our schedule goes back into effect). After work yesterday, Racheal and I hit the Galleria & Hampton/Chippewa FYE stores, along w/the Maplewood GameStop for an anime run. Racheal got a few things to help her finish up her current purchase series....while I went cheap and got the last 3 volumes of "Legend of Black Heaven," along with the OOP hard-to-find Guyver (the one by Manga Ent.) boxset for only a whopping $15. I wasn't going crazy like she was. :)
Anyway...Jonathon, our newest guy, joined with the team this week, after being on vacation (and working at Chesterfield, because of our trip) the last two weeks. He's a hard worker, who actively seeks out work. Meanwhile today...just boggles my mind that Mike hasn't sat down with Lawrence about his perennial tardiness. Lawrence comes waltzing in OVER AN HOUR LATE...and nothing happens. WTF? Then, for awhile, he does nothing while shooting the breeze with a former teammate of ours, Phil. Does anything happen by the higher-ups? NOPE. If he gets shifted over to the second team (like most of the team is believing he will), and if who I think is going to be the FDM of that team.....Lawrence's tardiness ends (and his work ethic improves)....or his employment ends (as if this person gets the FDM spot...he doesn't tolerate that stuff at all).
More to come later,
Matt
