As the Blues goalies turn...

Hey all,

Well, another foreign Blues prospect runs away home because of frustration, and because of that, it's seriously complicated the Blues goalie depth chart.

First off, if you haven't heard, Manny Legace left this afternoon's Blues game with an undisclosed injury. To complicate things on top of that, the Anchorage Daily News' reports that per Alaska Aces (the Blues ECHL affiliate) coach, Keith McCambridge, former Blues first rounder Marek Schwarz is returning home to the Czech Republic. This seriously throws a monkeywrench into the Blues depth charts, as the only two goalies beyond the now-injured Legace and Chris Mason under contract are our two Peoria (AHL) goalies: prospect Ben Bishop (who should be recalled) and young journeyman Chris Holt. With Schwarz bolting, expect the Blues to possibly ink T.J. Oshie's former teammate and current Alaska Aces goalie, J.P. Lamoureaux to a contract.

*sigh* Gotta hate all these kids running away overseas home when they get frustrated (in Schwarz's case, he struggled at the AHL, got demoted, and well....probably didn't take it too well). First the Russians (Zakharov twice, Shkotov, Lemytugov), now Schwarz (and if you want to count him Soderberg too).

*shakes head*
Matt
